Home of the "English Men`s Open Mid-Amateur Strokeplay (Logan Trophy)"

The Leicestershire Golf Club founded in 1890 is a beautiful parkland course which stands to the south of Leicester, backing on to open countryside.

Heavily treed and boasting the finest quality greens, the 6456 yard par 70 course challenges low handicap golfers whilst remaining suitable to golfers of all abilities. The course was extended to 18 holes in 1899 and in 1910 improvements by James Braid included a number of new bunkers.

Until 2018, the course was a par 68 with no par 5`s, but after considerable debate, the decision was made to lengthen both the 6th and 9th holes into par 5`s, with two new tees erected.

In 1936 the course was extended by Major Charles Mackenzie, brother of the legendary Alistair Mackenzie of Augusta National fame, and subsequently altered by C K Cotton.

The unique and architecturally significant circular clubhouse commands superb views over the course and offers excellent facilities for entertaining, dining and relaxing. Enquires for membership are welcomed, subject to waiting lists.
